Enhanced Curriculum

October 7, 2016 7:49 pm

This week the children have been enjoying lots of wonderful activities and taking part in the enhanced curriculum linked to their topics:

• Early Years have been exploring their woodland area and baking cakes in their ‘mud’ kitchen outside!

• Year 1 pupils have been taking on a variety of roles in their fairytale castle and enchanted wood. Thank you to Mr Brough who has built the pupils a fabulous woodland cottage as part of their role play area.

• Year 2 children have been supporting one another to improve their story maps for their own version of Jack and the Beanstalk.

• Year 3’s clay pots are amazing…they have worked really hard to create coil pots inspired by the work of Emma Bridegwater and Clarice Cliff.

• Year 4 have been excited to find out why the Romans were SO revolting and Year 5 have developed their knowledge of WW2 by finding out more facts.

• As well as developing their swimming techniques, Year 6 have been deepening their knowledge in Science about living things.

So all in all, another busy week here at Milton Primary…

Thank you for all of the Harvest contributions and donations. The food has been presented to our Local Food Bank (see p5) and any money donations are being sent to the Charity Arch. The charity has been chosen by our School Council. Please look out for our coffee and cake event coming soon to raise money for Douglas Macmillan.
