Parent views

Education is a joint partnership. Working in partnership with yourselves as parents is of paramount importance to us here at Greenways Primary Academy.  Working closely together helps us deliver the best possible outcomes for all our children; as we aim to ensure that all children become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Feedback from parents is really important to us as it enables us to identify possible ways to keep improving as a school.  There are many opportunities for parents to provide us with feedback, comments and suggestions.  We do an annual survey and share this with you, including actions we will take to address any concerns brought up. Staff are always present at parents evenings, assemblies, sports and arts events and as a staff, we are also on the playground before and after school if you need a chat about anything.

If you do have any concerns, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

Daily Contact

The children are brought out at the end of the day by their class teacher, or teaching support assistant. This is a good opportunity to quickly mention something relating to your child. Please ensure the class teacher has safely dismissed all children in their care before speaking to them.

Make an appointment

Sometimes you may wish to discuss an issue in more depth and we would ask you to either talk directly to your child’s class teacher to arrange an appointment or contact the school office who will be more than happy to arrange a mutually convenient appointment time. In the first instance the class teacher will meet with you to discuss any issues. If you feel the issue has not been resolved, please refer to our Who do I see? document (see download below), which details who you should book an appointment with next.

Governor Surgeries/Informal Tea and Coffee Meetings

We hold a termly meetings for parents to come in for an informal chat with Senior Leaders and Governors. Dates for these will be advertised on the newsletter. This gives you the opportunity to come into school and ask questions, to talk about things that are going well, or things that you think could be improved, or even just have a cup of tea.

Annual Parent Surveys

We carry out annual general surveys to gauge parental opinion on the broader aspects of our school and assimilate these views in to our school development plan.

Parent comments from questionnaires:

  • Keep doing what you are doing, loving, valuing nurturing each individual child so that they feel free to reach their potential. We’ve had one child who had blossomed and been full prepared for secondary school life with all it’s new challenges – it was all of the wonderful range of experiences he had at Greenways that enabled that transition to go so well. Most importantly, it was the individual nurturing by all staff that enriched his life.    Thank you
  • Greenways is a lovely school which supports my child’s learning and progression, the older children seem to be encouraged to interact with the younger children which is lovely.
  • My child loves coming to school, and is learning very well.
  • Fantastic school, children love their teacher and come home excited to say what they have learnt
