Sport

The children are taught high quality PE with our own teachers and instructors, ensuring our staff are skilled in delivering high quality physical education.

This is complimented with our links with Excel Academy and Hanley Town sports.  Our children perform at an Annual Dance show at the Victoria Hall and the children play sport competitively across the City.  Our football team does extremely well in both local and National competitions.  The children swim, many exceeding the 25m requirement of the National Curriculum.  They also compete at athletics each summer; again some children go on to represent the city.  In addition our Year 5 children attend a week residential trip to Stanley Head Outdoor education centre  http://www.stanleyhead.org.uk/ this enable the children to access many outdoor pursuits including bouldering, canoeing, high ropes, orienteering, as well as developing team skills and independence.

Cross-Country Success

Our fantastic KS2 children represented Burslem Town in the finals at Haywood Academy having reached the finals after competing in two qualifier heats. Well done to Zara for winning the girls final in the Stoke-on-Trent cross-country finals and for the girls team who took gold overall for Burslem Town. Isaac finished in the top 20 in the boys race, so a fantastic result all round! Well done everyone!

E.F.L Utilita Winners

Our fantastic football teams got 2022 off to a flying start by competing in the E.F.L Utilita Under 11’s football competition against other schools in Stoke-on-Trent. All of the children played incredibly well and one team bought home the trophy!

The team will now represent Stoke City when they play at Sheffield United in March. Well done everyone!
